The Mathematics of Pizza Ordering
Running out of pizza is a party planning failure, but ordering too much leads to budget waste. Industry planners estimate pizza orders using targeted per-capita metrics:
1. Calculate Total Slices:
The standard baseline is 3 slices for adults and 2 slices for children. We multiply these base values by the selected appetite modifier index ($A_f$):
Slices Needed = [ (Adults * 3) + (Children * 2) ] * A_f
2. Solve Pizza Pies Required:
Divide the slices needed by the slices available per pizza, and round up to the nearest whole integer:
